In this video, we are removing a popcorn ceiling that has been sprayed with a garden sprayer. The solution that is sprayed on, is a combination of warm water and a bit of dish washing soap.
Protection: furniture, lighting, windows and doorways are covered with 0.33 mil plastic to protect from water and dust. Floors are covered 100% with 2 mil plastic (which is a thick plastic), so that water does not penetrate.
Skimcoating: we often have customers ask us if we do skimcoating and/or what skimcoating actually is. Skimcoating is a technique used to make a very rough wall or ceiling smooth. This task if done by evenly applying joint compound, with either a Trowel or Taping Knife. In some cases, multiple coats (along with sanding), are nessecery to achieve a smooth-paintable surface.
